PAHAL A Sports Uniform Inspired by Warli Art As part of Pahal, an initiative to connect culture with sports, I designed a Kabaddi uniform for school players inspired by Warli art. Kabaddi’s fast movements and teamwork aligned naturally with Warli’s geometric shapes and rhythmic human figures. I translated key Warli motifs like circles, triangles, and dynamic line forms into a clean, modern pattern that symbolizes unity, agility, and strength. The color palette was adapted to suit young athletes while preserving the earthy essence of the art form. The final uniform blends performance friendly design with a touch of cultural identity, allowing players to represent both their school and their heritage on the field.

Process

This project focused on inculcating the Heritage into sports uniform for the brands future launch . It involved critical thinking and incorporation of them while aligning the brand’s value ,yet have a professional touch behind it while considering children’s requirement.

I started by learning about the brand ethos and finding that made me incorporate warli art as it based from one of the brand’s location area , it represent both of their aspects , the next stage involved exploration of fabric with provided both aspects from screen printing as it is one of the most desirable for the industry and fabric which fulfill the sports requirement.
